Name the object and its position
Use an ordinary object name and a location that distinguishes it from similar items. Remove the empty cup at the left edge of the table is more specific than clean this up. If two cups appear, add a visible feature such as color or proximity to a plate. Avoid describing a person through sensitive assumptions; a neutral positional description is enough when removal is appropriate and you have permission to edit the photograph.
Keep the request narrow
Begin with one target rather than combining removal, relighting, reshaping, and background replacement in one sentence. State what should remain when ambiguity matters: remove the floor cable, keep the lamp and its stand. Magic Eraser describes text-based removal, but a written instruction does not guarantee every surrounding detail will stay unchanged. If the target overlaps fingers, lettering, or an intricate pattern, consider a crop or a different source photograph before spending time on repeated attempts.
Inspect the place the object occupied
Compare the result with the original at the same scale. Look for repeated patches, interrupted table edges, altered shadows, and leftover reflections. A removed cup can still leave a handle-shaped fragment or an unexplained reflection on polished wood. If the replacement is distracting, simplify the request or return to the original rather than stacking edits on a damaged version. Keep a separate exported copy and record the successful wording in your own notes. The filled area is an interpretation, not a view of what the camera could not see.
Take it with you
- Identify the target with an object name and location.
- Start with one removal and specify important exclusions.
- Check replacement texture, shadows, and reflections.
